It brings together publications that meet strict standards of editorial quality, transparency, and good practices, ensuring that their contents are available without access barriers for readers around the world.
 

B. Specialized bibliographic databases

 

 
Biblat (Latin American Bibliography in Scientific and Social Research Journals) is a specialized portal for academic journals from Latin America and the Caribbean. It facilitates access to high-quality articles in the social sciences and humanities, providing regional and international visibility to the scientific output of the region.
 

Dialnet It is one of the largest bibliographic portals in the Spanish-speaking world. Specialized in the dissemination of scientific and academic production, it provides access to articles, theses, and books, facilitating the visibility and exchange of knowledge among universities, research centers, and libraries at an international level.

 

 

MIAR (Information Matrix for Journal Analysis) is a database that brings together key information on academic journals from all areas of knowledge. It provides the Composite Index of Secondary Dissemination (ICDS), an indicator that reflects the visibility of each publication in international databases and directories, facilitating their analysis and positioning.

 

 

CLASE (Latin American Citations in Social Sciences and Humanities) is a database specialized in the social sciences and humanities, developed by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). It indexes articles, essays, reviews, and other high-quality academic documents produced in Latin America and the Caribbean, facilitating their consultation and international visibility.

 

 

REBIUN (Network of University Libraries) is the network that brings together university and scientific libraries in Spain. It facilitates access to and visibility of academic and scientific resources through its union catalog, strengthening the dissemination and exchange of information among higher education institutions.

 

 

LatinREV It is the cooperative network of academic journals in the social sciences and humanities of Latin America and the Caribbean, coordinated by the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires. It promotes exchange, editorial cooperation, and the visibility of academic publications within the Ibero-American sphere.

 

C. Journal directories and repertories

 

 

ROAD – Directory of Open Access scholarly Resources It is an international directory, managed by the ISSN International Centre, that brings together open-access academic resources (journals, repositories, series, etc.). Its aim is to improve the visibility, access, and traceability of open-access scientific publications through standardized records based on the ISSN.

 

 

LivRe Open Access Journals) is a Brazilian directory of open-access scientific journals that brings together publications from various areas of knowledge. It facilitates visibility and free access to academic content, promoting the circulation of knowledge in Latin America and other international contexts.

D. Academic search engines and aggregators

Google Scholar (Google Scholar) is a specialized search engine for academic literature across all disciplines. It allows users to locate articles, theses, books, and other scholarly documents, offering citation metrics and facilitating global access to and visibility of research output.

 

 

 
OpenAlex It is an open database that indexes millions of articles, authors, journals, and institutions worldwide. It provides detailed information on scientific output, citations, and collaboration networks, facilitating free and barrier-free access to and analysis of academic literature.

 

BASE (Bielefeld Academic Search Engine) is one of the largest academic search engines in the world. Managed by the Bielefeld University Library (Germany), it indexes more than 300 million academic documents from repositories, journals, and databases, with a strong emphasis on open access.

 

Scilit It is an open-access academic database, managed by the publisher MDPI, which aggregates in near real time articles, journal issues, and other scientific content based on metadata (mainly from Crossref). It offers search functions, journal profiles, and basic publication analysis tools.

 

E. Identification, interoperability, and preservation services

 

 

Crossref It is an international non-profit organization that provides identification and linking services for academic content through DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers). It facilitates accurate citation, direct access to articles, and interoperability between platforms, strengthening the visibility and impact of scientific publications.
