Reflections on Academic Writing and Research
Main Article Content
Abstract
The text analyzes the impact of artificial intelligence on academic, technical, and scientific writing practices, highlighting both its pedagogical potential and its ethical, cognitive, and occupational risks. It argues that AI can contribute to learning, research, argumentation, and text production, provided it is used as a support tool and not as a substitute for critical thinking. It also emphasizes the need to verify the information generated, review sources, and preserve responsible authorship in contexts where discourse tends to become a hybrid of human and machine input. The document further outlines the fundamental principles of academic and scientific writing—clarity, precision, communicability, and coherence—which enable the creation of texts that are comprehensible, rigorous, and methodologically sound. Finally, it highlights the importance of the ethical use of direct and indirect citations, as well as consulting reliable references, to ensure the validity of academic discourse. Overall, the text concludes that artificial intelligence can be a valuable resource in education and scientific writing, provided it is integrated in a critical, reflective, and responsible manner.
