Access to Knowledge and Elimination of Fees
At Discimus, we firmly believe that access to scientific and educational knowledge should be a universal right, not a commercial product. Therefore, we have adopted an editorial policy that ensures there are no Article Processing Charges (APC) for our authors. This means we do not impose fees for the submission, review, editing, or publication of articles. Our goal is not to generate profits, but to foster a rich and diverse academic exchange that contributes to the advancement of education and the professional development of teachers globally.
Discimus is committed to ensuring maximum visibility and accessibility of the scientific contributions published on our platform.
As part of this commitment, we proudly announce that all selected articles will be assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) through Crossref. This initiative underscores our dedication to promoting open science and facilitating unrestricted access to academic knowledge.

Rejection Rate
We oppose the rejection rate as a measure of quality and impact in academic production. At Discimus, we strongly believe in the principles of open science and the dedicated work of teachers, especially in rural contexts, who strive to innovate, critically examine their practice, and promote school science production. We consider that using a rejection rate as an indicator of quality only fuels elitist and exclusionary prestige, based on the inaccessibility of publication, creating fear among authors. This criterion prioritizes rejection and closed doors, obstructing access to knowledge and restricting the diversity of voices and perspectives that can enrich scientific and educational debates.
Instead of raising barriers, we advocate for an inclusive model that values everyone’s contributions to science, particularly those in rural contexts who face specific challenges in their educational practice. For us, the impact of a work lies in its ability to transform realities, inspire change, and foster dialogue in the educational community—not in the number of rejected manuscripts.
What is a DOI?
A DOI (Digital Object Identifier) is a unique identifier assigned to each published article, providing a persistent and direct link to the digital content. This identification system ensures that each article can be accurately cited and easily located in the digital environment, regardless of future changes in the content’s location.
Benefits of Crossref DOIs for Authors and Readers
- Persistence: DOIs ensure that articles can always be found, even if the web address changes, guaranteeing the longevity of the published research.
- Improved Visibility: By being effectively indexed in search engines and academic databases, articles with DOIs gain more visibility, potentially increasing citations and academic impact.
- Interconnectivity: DOIs facilitate the connection between the published article and databases, repositories, and other related resources, enriching the scientific information ecosystem.
- Credibility and Recognition: Assigning a DOI through Crossref represents the gold standard in academic publishing, enhancing the credibility and international recognition of the authors' contributions.
Our Commitment to Academic Dissemination
Incorporating the Crossref DOI system in the publication of articles in Discimus is another step toward our goal of supporting the efficient and effective dissemination of scientific knowledge. We are dedicated to using all available tools and technologies to ensure that our authors’ valuable research reaches the widest possible audience, contributing significantly to the advancement of education and beyond.
Discimus invites researchers and scholars to join our community of authors and benefit from the broad dissemination and recognition that publication with a Crossref DOI offers. Together, we can work toward a future where open access and open science are the norm, breaking down barriers in the distribution of academic knowledge.
