Renovação dos estudos de economia diante de sua crise: uma experiência de aprendizagem digital e real

Resumo

Diante do ceticismo e da apatia de estudantes universitários de Economia frente ao excesso de abstração e matematização dos modelos econômicos, bem como aos métodos convencionais de ensino baseados em problemas previamente desenhados, este trabalho defende o uso de abordagens heterodoxas e de procedimentos mais realistas, digitais, aplicados e profissionais. Em particular, apresenta um projeto de inovação docente que contribuiu para melhorar o estudo da Macroeconomia (ao reconectar a Economia com outras Ciências Sociais) e, assim, reengajar os estudantes. Os alunos tiveram acesso contínuo a documentos práticos e a dados provenientes da plataforma on-line FRED® (Federal Reserve Economic Data), publicada pelo Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, com o objetivo de impulsionar a qualidade e a eficácia formativa por meio do estudo de casos práticos baseados em dados econômicos reais. Nesse sentido, este trabalho expõe, como exemplo, a análise da curva de Phillips e sua evolução nas últimas décadas. Dada a repercussão alcançada por essa iniciativa docente, ela passou a ser aplicada em níveis mais avançados, o que envolve o uso de outras bases de dados relacionadas, como ALFRED® ou FRASER®.
