Impacts of covid-19 on elementary education

Given the serious characteristics and consequences in education derived from the pandemic in the world, the research was developed, which gives rise to this article. Objective: it was done with the purpose of assessing the impact of Covid-19 in private preschool and primary schools in the city of Tunja, Boyacá, Colombia. Materials and methods: surveys were applied to the directors of 28 educational centers, out of a total of 56, interviews were made with them, an observation grid was made and a field diary was kept to later triangulate the information. Results: results were found such as the definitive closure of several schools due to this phenomenon and the economic difficulties suffered by the owners of the schools for the same reason. Conclusions: it was concluded that the directors, teachers, students and parents had few skills to use digital tools and that despite the economic adjustments that were made, the schools still have serious difficulties to recover the number of students and the financial part.
